70% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir. A beautifully poised Rose Champagne, with real class and distinction. Lovely red fruits with buttery caramel hints, a crisp yet smooth creamy finish. Excellent length.
A long established family domaine with an unbroken, four-generation history of winemaking. Villers Marmery is unusual for the Montagne de Reims as it has significant plantings of Chardonnay in an area largely dedicated to Pinot Noir. The style of wine produced in this zone is generally quite full & fruity - Bollinger's home village of Ay in on the southern slopes.
Henriet-Bazin also own vineyards in Verzenay and Verzy, both Grand Cru.
Their wines are beautifully poised and, especially in the case of the vintage cuvee, have powerfully concentrated fruit.
