The Reichestal vineyard lies on slightly lower, less steeply sloping ground than much of the rest of the Hochheim vineyards and to the west, where the valley of the Main is opening towards the north/south oriented valley of the Rhine a few kilometres away. This location, and the geological conditions it has been subject to, have produced a vineyard with relatively fertile, well watered soil that produces ripe, richly fruity wines.
This wine has an irresistible balance of peachy, nectarine fruit with a mineral core and a fresh underlying acidity. It will age and lose a little of the fleshiness of youth and gain more elegance and vineyard character but why wait? Drink now and often, only 7.5% alcohol. Off dry.
