A richer style Kabinett from the Rheinhessen with clean, fruity and well balanced fruit. Packed with flavour yet very subtle.
Carl Gunderloch, a banker, founded the estate in 1890. His observation of the Rothenberg vineyard in winter, whilst walking to work, ensured a shrewd purchase. He noticed the snow there melted a little quicker than elsewhere and concluded that the site had the right microclimate for successful grape growing. He has been proved right. The Rothenberg vineyard, of which Gunderloch is the largest owner, produces wines of magnificent quality. This could not be achieved without the meticulous care and attention that Fritz and Agnes Hasselbach (grand daughter of Carl) devote to the estate. Three times the Nackenheim Rothenberg Trockenbeerenauslese has been awarded 100 points in the Wine Spectator.
