This small house in the ancient capital of Champagne, Ay, has a long distinguished history and great credentials, yet they are refreshingly modest and commercially pragmatic - a rare combination, particularly in Champagne. Whereas so many of the bigger houses trade on their labels, Lallier most definitely trade on the quality of their wines. 55% Pinot Noir, 45% Chardonnay. Rich and complex with hints of honey and nuts, lovely intensity but with impeccable elegant balance. A great value when compared to the big name bling Champagnes.
Situated in the same village as Bollinger. Lallier is 100% Grand Cru grapes, interestingly Bollinger is only 85% Grand Cru grapes!
